Walton Arts Center's 2021 Northwest Arkansas Art Exhibition ❤️ I am pleased to share that my oil painting ‘Dupatta #1’ will be a part of this group show!!

This is such a fabulous venue and a great exhibition that will showcase work by local artists. The art that I have seen so far is so varied in terms of style, subject, medium etc…which I love!! A huge congratulations to all my artists friends who will also show their work here. Come & check it out if you can, details towards the bottom of this post.

Location: Joy Pratt Markham Gallery located inside the Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville AR

Info for my out of state/overseas friends & family: The Walton Arts Center is Arkansas' largest and busiest center for the performing arts and entertainment. Baker University Opening Reception and Artist Talk

Baker University Opening Reception and Artist Talks! Time well spent in Kansas and photos to share 😊
I was invited to do an artist talk for faculty, students & the public. On the same day was the opening reception for my solo exhibition.
My first presentation was with a PowerPoint in one of the classrooms. Other talks were in the gallery. I enjoyed sharing details about my journey, fabrics, history, geography, culture, language (Urdu) and of course art. Lots of great questions asked by everyone and I enjoyed the interaction. I also got to attend Professor Horton’s class where I helped to critique student’s work, the focus of the class was on values (light). I enjoyed meeting undergraduate and MFA students.

Some images captured from the opening reception that was on the same evening. A great university and community, that truly appreciated and welcomed my work.

This exhibition runs until October 1, Holt-Russell gallery is open to the public, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm and Saturday’s noon-5pm.

I’ll be doing an Artist Talk at Baker University in Kansas at 11am, Thursday of this week!! The reception for my Solo Exhibition here, will be on the same day from 5pm-7pm. It’s free to attend both events, everyone is welcome and masks are required.

Happening on Thursday Sept 9 (4:30-7:30) and during the monthly art event known as Art on the Bricks in Downtown Rogers AR . I will have a couple of my NEW mixed media paintings available to purchase at the ANA gallery located inside the Rogers Experimental House!! Come and check these out in person, my mixed media work includes a core of traditional South Asian fabrics, paint and epoxy. Other works are available at my Solo show at Baker University in Kansas.

This group show can also be seen throughout September, gallery regular opening hours are Thurs - Sat 10am-6pm and Sunday’s noon-4pm. This group show includes artwork by lots of amazing local artists.

HAPPENING IN SEPTEMBER! Several friends have reached out to ask about my next show. I am pleased to share that I will be having a solo exhibition at Holt Russell Gallery at Baker University in the state of Kansas!

My oil painting titled ‘Ustad’ is on the official flyer. ‘Ustad’ is the Urdu word for teacher. Perfect choice as the feature painting!

This private university was founded in 1858 and it’s located close to the city of Lawrence.

Exhibition Details: Sept 3 -Oct 1, gallery opening hours are Mon- Fri 9-5 and Sat noon-5.

WORK IN PROGRESS - several people have asked about

WORK IN PROGRESS - several people have asked about my NEW mixed media work and what materials they consist of. So, here is one I am working on now. I was drawn to the wood panel heart ❤️!! For this painting I have added paint, traditional South Asian fabric all before this enters the epoxy resin stage. Sometimes I add more/different materials into my work, each painting has it’s uniqueness. I’m less than half way there with this one. This was fun to create, while I work on oil paintings and various projects along side this😊
