Wow, I can’t believe I have just organized and worked in another art reception this year!

A big thank you to everybody who came out to show their support, to see my work and generally enjoy the evening. We had a great turn out of people, it was so nice to catch up friends, local artists and meet new people throughout the evening. I also had some art students drop by, mostly for inspiration – I took that as a huge compliment! The live band playing, (Second Line Strings) were amazing. Joelle & Sharon from the Fayetteville Underground Gallery, came out to support me and help with making the evening run smoothly. It was great to support local, we had Fossil Cove which is a well established local business, a live band, food truck on site, a local gallery onsite. My artwork was displayed in the tasting room, a stage was set up for the live band, and the food container kitchen was on site, we had a table set up with the British flag and a Dupatta, both draped over it. On top of that table I displayed my prints, a signing in book and business cards. See the photo’s above, we tried to capture as much as we could, the evening went by so quickly!

At Fossil Cove Brewery, my ‘Decades Defined’ artwork was displayed on one wall and my new body of work that has a British Fusion theme was on the other wall. My British Fusion theme work is inspired by my upbringing and heritage. I was born and raised in the UK and I am a first generation immigrant. My parents moved from Pakistan to the UK in the 1970’s when they were in their 20s. My upbringing involved influences from both cultures. I only had 4 pieces ready for my new work, this was a great way to test the waters with lots of ideas I have buzzing around in my head! During (and after) my art reception my new body of work got lots of positive attention! I was thrilled to see people looking at my oil paintings up close, asking questions and sharing their feedback with me. We sold some pieces too!

My current artwork is displayed at Fossil Cove Brewery in Fayetteville, throughout the month of August, 2017. If you didn’t get a chance to attend my art reception, then check it out in person while you can.

Prints are available for sale of my British Fusion themed work – British Rose, Identity, Jazmine and Forgotten at the Fayetteville Underground Gallery gift shop. Image of the prints shown below.
