Wow, another crazy year!! Below is an image of my top 9 moments!

In May I had back surgery, I had been suffering with pain since my car wreck in 2018. After numerous treatments, and trying to avoid surgery, they finally operated on me in May. Post surgery tiredness for over 6 months certainly took a lot out of me. On the upside, I was grateful to resolve on the ongoing pain. I am also happy to share that my surgery did not stop me from achieving my 2019 goals!!

Not only did some great exhibits take place but also a new studio and a separate storage and office space were built. We custom built my studio and it’s the perfect creating space. A home studio in Fayetteville is allowing me to be more productive and work late into the night, which I love.

In September my big sister and nephew visited the US and our home in Fayetteville for the very first time. I have shared my sister’s journey through my work, so to have her visit us was really something!! It was exciting to show them around Northwest Arkansas, with trips to Crystal Bridges Museum of Art, farmers market, local restaurants and events the week just flew by. I managed to show them my work in 2 different exhibitions; the Fayetteville Town Center was hosting a national juried art show with my work in it. At 21c Museum in Bentonville, I got to show them my oil painting ‘Bahin’ which translates to ‘sister’ in Urdu. This painting was inspired by my big sister, so for her to see it in a museum exhibit was very meaningful for us all.

My year ended with some out of state gallery exhibits, I could just about tilt the car seat back to lay down as my husband drove us there. We made it to Texas and Missouri!  My back still continues to heal and I am grateful for opportunities that were presented to me in 2019, and everyone that has supported me.  Planning for 2020 has begun with several new exciting projects!
